Our Lady of the Holy Rosary School is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA) for a full six year (highest) accreditation. The school has a long history of receiving this significant (maximum awarded) six year accreditation.
OLHR provides a comprehensive pre-school through 8th grade curriculum as stipulated by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and according to California State Standards in the following subjects: math, English, reading, spelling, social studies, science art, music, religion, technology and physical education. Students are assessed through the annual Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) test, which is conducted over a two-week period in early autumn.
Title I services are provided to the school through Los Angeles Unified School District, which help students in areas of reading and math. Students who require extra assistance attend Title I classes during the school day with a reading or math specialist. At times, students may face problems that affect their academic performance, so school counselors sponsored by Providence Hospital are available to help students with study and /or conflict resolution skills, or emotional stresses that may affect their grades and/or behavior.
